I strongly suggest using clear shipping tape (yes there is also brown shipping tape) so that your package still looks like a Flat Rate shipping envelope. Put your bound payload into the box and seal with the provided strip making sure to avoid wrinkles. I then stuff the bag into the jig and apply the shipping tape in such a way that the shape is maintained by the pressure from the tape and not the vacuum of the squeezed out air. It keeps the contents safer (especially the Tyvek) and dry. When shipping clothing, I prefer to stuff everything into a Tyvek or zipper seal bag. That is the exact cubic dimension of your package.You can use the jig to estimate and shape your payload. Multiply the Length, Width, and Height, and then divide that total by 1,728. For boxes that aren't square, measure the Length, Width, and Height of your box in inches. A 2 cubic foot square box is pretty big and well beyond the size of most packages being shipped. A square package 2 feet by 2 feet is 2 Cubic feet. A square package 1 foot by 1 foot is 1 cubic foot. *Calculating the cubic dimensions of your packages isn't difficult. And when shipping packages, select Large Package. We suggest reviewing your shipping process to ship in the smallest box possible to avoid these surcharges. If the volume of the package is greater than 2 cubic feet, a $15.00 surcharge will be applied*.
